About Me

Meet Julia Diamond
I am a senior at the University of Delaware with majors in Biology and Marine Science and am an Honors student. I will graduate with my BS this upcoming Spring 2025. Despite being a science major, I have always enjoyed art and especially photography. I have taken photography classes throughout high school and took AP 2D Studio Art focusing solely on photography. Through the courses I have taken I have some experience using a DSLR camera and editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. I currently shoot with my Canon EOS Rebel T6i and my Google Pixel 6 Pro. I now take photos for fun on my own time and also do photography for UD's independent student newspaper, The Review.
Course
Goals
1 / Be more creative with my photography
I did more creative photography and prompted projects in high school that really made me think more about what I was shooting. Although I have continued taking photos since then, it has been more documenting and capturing sights with minimal thought process behind the images.
2 / Consider the fundamentals and technicalities of photography
I have learned some of the basic principles of photography in previous classes, but I want to learn more or the fundamentals and keep them in mind when I am taking photos.
3 / Learn more about well-known and professional photographers
I enjoy doing photography personally and while I have learned about a few other photographers in the past it was never my focus, so I am hoping to learn about and be inspired by professional photographers and their unique styles.
